Social media has become an integral part of student life, significantly influencing both behaviour and learning. On the positive side, it provides access to a wide range of educational resources such as online study groups, tutorials and digital libraries, while also fostering collaboration, creativity and the development of essential digital skills. It enables students to connect with teachers and peers, share ideas and build confidence. However, excessive or unregulated use can lead to distractions, reduced academic focus, peer pressure and even negative effects on mental health. Therefore, the key lies in responsible usage-when guided wisely, social media can enhance engagement, motivation and performance, empowering students to succeed in today’s digital age while minimizing potential risks.
